Simmering Along...
We had our 2nd u/w & b/w today and things are moving along. It is looking like we have about 12 follies and they are all measuring between 12 & 13. The RE did make the comment that I probably have a bit more ovarian dysfunction than they originally thought because of the way that I am responding. I guess based on my combination of meds they thought I would have had more follies to begin with. They are increasing my Gonal-F to 225 ius at least for the next couple of days. We will go back for another monitoring appointment on Saturday. I am kind of thinking that we may trigger on Monday for a Wednesday ER but we will see. I am really starting to feel the effects of all the drugs now, I think I could sleep for 12 or 15 hours straight and the bloating is starting to get worse. The sucky part is that I am going to have to order some more drug...another $500 bucks out the door!

that seems like a strange comment for your RE to make. I think 12 follicles is excellent - especially since they are all right aruond the same size. My RE would consider that excellent. My RE says that 8 - 20 follicles is ideal - and you are right in the middle of that range.
So keep up the good work!
I agree with Carol. 12 follies are a great amount. I wonder why your RE said that. And you started out on a very low dose for IVF. 150iu isn't very much. You're doing really well. Hang in there. Wishing you the best of luck.

Thanks ladies! I was kind of suprised by his comment too. I guess he was just hoping for more follies this time (I had 13 with my first IVF). Of course I am all about quality over quantity so hopefully these 12 will just be really good eggs :-)

Glad things continue to move along for you. 12 follicles is good. that is how many I had so maybe it is a lucky number! :)
I'd be ecstatic with 12 follicles. I've heard (from 2 RE's) that anything over 8 is great. Try not to let a random comment get you down (easier said than done, I know).
I agree - I think 12 is awesome. I know I am ecstatic this round with having 11 eggs... we have had 7 and 3 in the past. Quality is the most important factor, as you say.
